No car? No problem. Park Slope contains a variety of transportation options. Use the subway to get to Manhattan, the bus to travel around Brooklyn, and hop on an LIRR train to get out to the country (aka Long Island).

Subway
With the Atlantic Terminal so close, Park Slope is a great place to catch a subway. Some of the favorite subway lines are the 2/3 , the B or Q, and the F.

Bus
The bus service provides an alternative to the subway system. The B63 goes up and down 5th Ave, and the B67 travels the length of 7th Ave.

Train
There is a Long Island Rail Road station conviently located at the Atlantic Terminal. It runs to to the Jamaica Station, a central hub in the system.

Parking
Although the name of the neighborhood may indicate otherwise, parking is quite difficult in the area. There are few parking garages and the ones that do exist are rather expensive. Except for the main avenues, most street side parking is free, but empty spaces are so rare that you often are forced to park a significant number of blocks away from where you live. When you mix in the street cleaning rules you will quickly find parking to be quite a challenge.
Taxi / Car Service
As any NY resident will tell you, there are times when public transportation just doesn't get you where you need to go. Although the neighborhood doesn't have the volume of cabs on the street like you would find in Manhatten, there are plenty of taxi and car service companies in the area.
